Need For OSHA 10 Construction Online Training

Safety at work is important for employees who may have to take risk-filled actions when trying to complete the assigned tasks. The entry-level workers are required to take the OSHA 10 construction online training to learn and recognize the risks and the process of remaining protected. It is a necessary safety training to achieve compliance with the OSHA standards related to the construction industry.

The course covers multiple topics such as fall protection, PPE, and electrical safety. Moreover, the workers who complete the training become eligible for the Department of Labor (DOL) card. It is interesting to note that this training typically lasts for 10 hours. Moreover, it can be taken online, providing individuals with an additional advantage. The entry-level construction workers can thus choose to take the training followed by the test on weekends. This helps them to continue working without any leave of absence.

The training course is available online, with the students gaining access 24/7. Additionally, the students may take the training at their own pace and continue to save the work before returning the next day to begin from the point where the module was discontinued. This allows the trainees to undergo the training without disrupting their normal routine.

There are 10 modules to complete during the training course. The topics included in the modules are as follows: -

· Module 1: Introduction to OSHA

· Module 2: OSHA Focus Four Hazards

· Module 3: Personal Protective Equipment

· Module 4: Health Hazards in Construction

· Module 5: Stairways and Ladders

· Module 6: Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators, and Conveyors

· Module 7: Excavations

· Module 8: Materials Handling, Use and Disposal

· Module 9: Scaffolds

· Module 10: Tools ‐ Hand and Power

It is mandatory to attempt the quiz at the end of each module once the student completes it. It is advisable to pass each quiz with a score of 70% or more. The student will get three attempts to pass each quiz. Failure to do it on the third attempt will lock the student out of the training course.

In addition, the students are expected to pass the final examination after completing all 10 modules. This will provide due credit to the student once they pass the final test successfully. The final exam includes 20 questions, which are based on the topics covered in the modules. Again, the student gets three attempts to pass the final test by scoring 70% at least.

The students who complete the final test successfully are eligible to print out the certificate immediately. This certificate suffices temporarily until the student receives the DOL card within two weeks of completing the training course.

The qualified rigger training is required to be taken by workers, operators, or supervisors responsible for guiding loads, hooking, unhooking, or inspecting gear. OSHA regulatory standards are mandated for staff members who work within the crane operating zone or during assembly or disassembly of heavy equipment.
