There are multiple ongoing construction projects within New York City at any given time. Ensuring the safety of the numerous workers is a must. Sure, not all project owners or the management can note every detail and take appropriate steps to reduce the risk rate. It has been made mandatory for construction supervisors, on-site safety coordinators, and the project manager to undergo the NYC SST supervisor training in Manhattan and Queens, NY, to ensure the safety of every construction worker and visitor to the site.

It is helpful to know that working or overseeing any construction project located in any of the five boroughs of New York City is beneficial. The training program, lasting 62 hours, is recommended by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB). The course is designed to include identification and safety techniques required at any significant construction project site within the city limits.

Devised to comply with Local Law 196, the entire training course is divided into the following courses, each with specific hours required to ensure comprehensive knowledge of the must-dos in every aspect. The inclusion in the training course is as follows:

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training

8-Hour Fall Prevention

8-Hour Site Safety

4-Hour Supported Scaffold User and Refresher

2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness

In addition, the students must go for any of the following elective topics as deemed necessary:

Going for any of the above-mentioned topics depends on the specific role of the supervisor or manager.
